OEM and Aftermarket Chevy Silverado and Colorado Front Bumpers
Chevy truck bumpers really take a pounding. They get hit with road debris. They can get damaged when you are parking. Sometimes you bump into things when you are towing and road salt is not good for them either. After a while all this damage can add up. When your Chevy truck bumper is too damaged to fix you need to find an one that is just right for your Chevy truck.
At McClain Auto Part we have a lot of Chevy Silverado bumpers and Chevy Colorado bumpers. We have bumpers for the 1500 2500 HD and the mid-size Chevy trucks. We check every bumper before we ship it from our warehouse in Cleveland, Ohio.
We have bumpers for all kinds of Chevy trucks. Some people want a bumper that’s just like the one their Chevy truck came with. Other people need a bumper made of steel because they have a lifted Chevy truck or a Chevy truck they use for work. We have bumpers, for both types of Chevy trucks.
Why Bumper Fitment Matters More Than Most People Think
A Chevy Silverado front bumper is really not something that fits every truck. The kind of truck you have the year it was made the sensors it has and the way the tow hooks are set up all matter when you are trying to find the bumper for your Chevy Silverado.
The same thing is true for the Chevy Colorado bumper. A regular Chevy Colorado and a ZR2 Chevy Colorado are very different when it comes to the front of the truck. The ZR2 bumper is special because it has a shape that helps the truck go up steep hills, special holes for the fog lights and a place for a skid plate that the regular bumper does not have.
If you get the bumper for your truck it can cause a lot of problems. For example if the holes for the sensors are in the place the parking sensors will not work right.. If the bumper does not have holes, for the fog lights you will not be able to put your factory lights on correctly. So it is really important to make sure the bumper will fit your truck before you buy it.
What We Carry
OEM Replacement Bumpers
When you buy Factory OEM units that come from donor trucks you get the option. This is great for owners who want their truck to look like it just came from the factory. The way these units are mounted and the position of the sensors are like the originals. Even the finish is the same as the equipment, on your specific trim level. Putting these units in is not hard to do. When you are done everything looks like it was always supposed to be that way it looks like a Factory OEM job. Factory OEM units are the way to go if you want a factory-correct fit and a factory appearance.
Chrome and Painted Bumpers
Higher trim Silverado trucks usually have chrome bumpers.
Lower and mid-range trucks have painted bumpers.
The Colorado mostly has painted bumpers across all its models.
When you mix bumper finishes it looks weird where the grille meets the fender.
That’s why we always check the finish type before we order an OEM bumper.
Heavy-Duty and Off-Road Bumpers
For Chevy Silverado 1500 and 2500 HD owners who want protection on the front bumper there are heavy-duty steel bumpers available. It depends on what we have in stock now.
The Colorado ZR2, off-road bumper is also very popular.
People often ask for it.
These bumpers work well on lifted trucks on trucks built for trails and for use.
The reason is that the regular bumper does not handle conditions well.
Sensor and Fog Light Compatibility
The Silverado and the Colorado have parking sensors and front cameras and fog lights that’re all part of the bumper.
These things can be different depending on the type of Silverado or Colorado you have. The year it was made.
The Colorado ZR2 has its special way of setting up the fog lights and sensors that is not like the regular Colorado.
We check the Silverado and the Colorado to make sure all the sensors and fog lights are correct, for your vehicle before we send anything to you.
Fitment by Platform
Chevy Silverado 1500 and 2500 HD
The Chevy Silverado 2500 HD front bumper uses different mounting geometry from the 1500 even on visually similar trucks. Within each platform, trim level determines sensor count, fog light openings, tow hook provisions, and finish type. Confirm your year, model, and trim before ordering.
Chevy Colorado
The Chevy Colorado bumper varies significantly between the base, Z71, and ZR2 trim levels. The lower valance design, fog light placement, and approach clearance geometry all differ. ZR2 owners especially need to confirm they are sourcing a ZR2-specific unit rather than a standard Colorado replacement.
VIN Confirmation
Call us with your VIN before ordering. It confirms your production year, model, trim level, and factory equipment in one step. We do not ship a bumper without confirming the fitment match for your specific truck.
Ready to Order
